I think I'd be pissed at the teachers in both situations. Our reactions should be the same regardless whether it was a son or daughter.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at - the double standard we apply as a society. I just didn't articulate my point well.

And holy crap, how did nobody call me out on the awful grammatical error? Through the roof, not threw the roof.

I wouldn't crush him but it would be a teaching moment about the potential consequence of immediate gratification.

The goal would be 100% to keep him from getting in his hairdresser's guts 5 to 10 years down the line. That is how you catch a baby.

I would absolutely have a very candid discussion with my son and try to get him to see the very negative consequences such a relationship would cause for both him and her. As a former High School Principal, I would seek to have the teacher prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I have no sympathy for any teacher, male or female, that gets into a sexual relationship with a student. I look at these situations as the same whether it is a male teacher or female, they are all predators and that shite has no place in education or society in general.

Why is that?

I have a son and daughter and they are treated different in lots of parenting situations.

Great insight. This doesn't preclude them from being damaged at the hands of a mentally ill predator, which is exactly what a teacher deciding to have a relationship with a teenager is.

Whoa.

Sounds like you’ve never had a day of fun in your whole life.

You must have just been washing and scrubbing your car too being it’s a Tuesday.

I'm not sure what the punishment would be, but I certainly wouldn't condone it.

One thing I have noticed since my son started high school is teachers are way more friendly than they were when I was in school.

I don't know where and when y'all were in school. I graduated from HS in 1979. I knew 2 younger guy teachers that were in relationships with a student. I knew a 3rd who flirted a lot with students. One of these guy teachers married the student a few years after she graduated. They are still married 30 something years later.

I actually think back then there were more teens dating adults. I dated a boy 4 years older than me. He was 19 and I 15 when we started dating. Married 34 years till he passed away. I had several friends who were 17 and dating 24-25 year olds. Their parents hated it and tried to forbid it, but it didn't work. It seems like now, everyone is really scared to date someone underage.

For example a 30 year old man sleeps with your 15 year old daughter, and a 30 year old woman sleeps with your 15 year old son.

Both your son and daughter "consented" and knew what they were doing. Are both of them "raped"? The answer is yes, but people will say, they boy wasn't but the girl was.

So the 30 year old woman gets probation while, the 30 year old man is hit with jail time. Why is one more ok than the other? Both of these 30 year olds are predators no?

You take him to years of counseling because he was brutally raped.

At least that’s what the snowflakes on the PB believe.
