As long as you stay away from Coxen Hole Roatan is a pretty nice island. Yes, infrastructure is still lacking on the east end of the island but that's part of what gives the island its charm.

For those saying some European countries, you may want to look at their tax rates coupled with cost of living.
Whatever reason you would be leaving the U.S., it doesn't really get any better in most of those countries.
If I was seriously considering this, I would be looking at places like Puerto Rico where there is no fed tax, or SE Asia where you could live like a king on very little income comparative to the US.

Easily Costa Rica. Somewhere on the Pacific side around the gulf de papagayo.
Would finally put all that IFRS accounting knowledge to work.

Germany, oh wait already live there. I prefer the good ole USA ,but family situation brings me here. Oh and no one is moving because of politics, the libtards saying they would up and leave are still in the USA and it is not easy to pick up and move to another country outside of being in the military.

We live in Ecuador. Good place- great people, fantastic climate, low cost of living, modern day amenities, BUT nowhere that I have been is as good as the states.
You realize it more and more how much “we” take the states for granted compared to every other country on Earth.
If more people got out, you would realize quickly the US is still the shining beacon of hope in the world.

True statement. Unless you have a work visa you can't just up and move to most countries and plan to live the rest of your life there. Central America and some Caribbean islands differ.

If you would move anywhere outside the US
Where would it be?

The same number will leave as left when Trump was elected: almost none.
I've always liked Bermuda. The climate is mild and they speak English.

I've enjoyed France, The Netherlands, and Italy, so probably one of them. Ultimately, I wouldn't do it though. I would rather move somewhere like Montana, if I want to "get away".

My old company sold to an Australian company and closed my old office.
The guy who replaced me got moved to a project in New Zealand.
He now lives in some small mountain village in New Zealand and hunts and hikes and skis all the time.
That literally could have been me if I hadn't left 1 year early.
FML.

I couldn't get comfortable with the massive cultural differences.

Me either and I don't want to learn another language. I'll never leave the US but if I did it would probably be to New Zealand.

I'm kinda liking the Tuscan countryside response.
I follow this woman on Instagram that is originally from the US, but has been in Italy and married to an Italian man for the past 30 years. They live in Rome, but also have a country home in Umbria where they farm, they cook amazing Italian food, and eat outdoors overlooking the rolling hills.
That is my dream. And I'm not even a rural type of person.
