It’s absolutely incredible how so many of you can’t distinguish the 5% from the 95% and take it so personally.
Like mind numbingly dumb
because you're an adorable little faqqot and we like to pick on you.

You’re a big fat ugly one (your words)
And you can’t make it 150 miles without having to shite from your fat boy meds. Tough scene!

I use a barbell and echo bike
Even when I was down to 12% body fat I still had sleep apnea. Some people simply have a narrow air path.

I bring a small bottle of distilled water. TSA will do a quick test of it at the x-ray screening and it takes about 2 minutes. I pack it with my CPAP and they know exactly what it is. Never had an issue.

Hey!! Not everyone with sleep apnea is fat!!
I need to drop some weight, but mine started when I was young and fit. Damn nose holes just aren't big enough. Probably wouldn't have gained the weight I did if I didn't wait so long to get one.

If you do use a humidifier the most important thing is keeping it clean.. worst thing for germ growth is water and mild heat. Use white vinegar and water mixed 50/50 rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.
Ive seen people bring their home devices into the hospital that are just nasty..
I have like a reddish, pink algae or some shite growing in mine. That bad?

I take my previous CPAP and use bottled water out of the country which is always the case. It’s only used 3-4 weeks out of the year and by the time I get a new one my current becomes my previous. Current = Airsense 11 previous Airsense 10. In Cancun now using the old 10 works great.

Hope you’re joking….

Serratia marcescens is a Gram-negative bacterium that can cause opportunistic infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals, and is known for its red or pink pigment. It is a common inhabitant of moist environments, such as bathrooms and pet water dishes, and can also be found in soil and water. While historically considered harmless, it is now recognized as a significant cause of nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and bloodstream infections.

When I first got the news I needed one, I had that same fear….now, I can’t sleep without it. I only have to use the nostril thingy, not the big mask!

I took mine on our trip to the UK. I couldn't find distilled over there so I used regular bottled water. It does leave a film in your reservoir that will need to be cleaned that distilled doesn't but I had no issues for the 2 weeks I was there.

Does it make a difference?

I’ve used a CPAP for 5 years or more, and I can honestly say I’ve never put water in the reservoir. Hasn’t affected my sleep thus far, at least not to my knowledge.
Does it make a difference?
It all depends on the air quality in your room.
In the summer months when I run the AC and keep the room cool, I don't need it. But in the winter when the heater is running and that air is so dry, I need water in the humidifier or my nose and mouth will dry out.
Also...the air in hotel rooms tends to be drier, so I usually need water in those cases too

After I got drowned a couple times I stopped using water in mine. Zero issues since.

Have used a CPAP since 2010. Have never used distilled water - only bottled water.

Have you tried the phillips dreamwear? It's the least invasive mask I have ever used.

My wife (no pics) travels with one and won't use anything else.
When traveling with a CPAP machine, distilled water is strongly recommended—even when you're on the go.
Why
It helps prevent mineral buildup in the humidifier chamber and keeps the machine running smoothly. Regular bottled water can leave residue or even introduce microbes, which isn’t great when you’re inhaling that mist all night. Distilled is cleaner, safer, and exactly what the manufacturers recommend. If we can’t find it, we’ll use purified water as a backup—but we clean the unit more often when we do.

I only use distilled, the new bottles from WM have a screw top so its easier to travel with when driving. Otherwise if its one night I'll use bottled water, or go to the store and spend $1.50 on a gallon of distilled.
