There are actually a pretty decent number of places in the world that are equivalent or arguably better. London, Tokyo, Istanbul, etc....

I can understand saying there's no equivalent in the country, but not so much the world.

I really want to go there. Especially for a Bestikas/Fenerbache soccer match.

While I've never been to Boston, I find it hard to believe they can be worse than people from Philly.

London and Amalfi coast are very different but two of my favorite places in the world.

I actually haven't been to Philly either, but I have a friend from there who now lives in Boston and he said it's not even close. People from Philly are way worse. Particularly at sporting events.

He basically said that while Boston fans will screw with you, it's by and large harmless fun. A Phillies or Eagles fan will make good on the crap they are saying.

But as I said, that's a second hand account, although from someone with considerable experience in both cities.

In my experience New Yorkers tend to be less outgoing, but they are usually not rude. More reserved and in more of a hurry than people in a lot of parts of the south, but when you actually talk to them they are often very friendly and helpful.

Very close. They are miserable. I'll call it a toss up. They aren't as aggressive as Philly, but they suck none the less.

I agree with this. My best friend just moved back to ATL after being up there for 6-7 years (ages 25-32ish). He was killing it and it was a blast every time I went to visit him.

However, for any other stage of life it wouldn't be high on my list of places to live.

I don't care for hipsters and yuppies and tourists and foreigners because I'm an old fat white republican that smokes cigars and thinks everyone else could use a little more jack daniels and college football in their life.

I was sitting at a bar a few weeks ago in Philly, and was sitting next to 3 Eagles fans, one of which was wearing a Miami shirt. Miami was playing Florida State and I told them I was rooting for Miami. The guy asked if I was a Miami fan, and I said Ole Miss. The dude then said my team sucks and are a bunch of pussies and for me to go frick myself. Florida State then intercepts the ball and makes a touchdown, and they start blaming me for jinxing it and want to take it out back because of it. Ignored them from that point, but couldn't believe that shite.

Seriously, if you're not an Eagles fan in that town, it's pretty much in their minds an open invitation for them to kick your arse. And I've had some much more minor shite talking when people ask me if I'm a big Eagles fan, and when I say no, they start getting hostile. Never ran into a bigger a-hole fanbase in my life.

I have, but:

Absolutely not true.

I'll give the Gumps the benefit of the doubt that they don't want to kick anyone's arse who doesn't root for them. Bama fans don't really give a frick if I root for Ole Miss, so long as I don't root for Auburn or Tennessee, but even then I don't think a large portion of their fanbase will kick your arse. Show up in Cowboys or Giants attire to an Eagles home game, you're likely going to get assaulted and will certainly have a birrage of inappropriate insults coming your way, and you'll still likely get your arse kicked wearing any different fanbases shirt regardless. The Eagles fans have lived up to their reputation since I've been up here.

I would have loved to have lived in NYC when I was younger. My college roommate was there for a few years and I was able to stay with him on quite a few weekends, was awesome. But crazy expensive unless you live in a rat's nest.

It's a crazy feeling when you are there that you are part of something, I can't really explain it. Sounds retarded, but I don't get that feeling anywhere else, other than when I was in Florence, Italy. Not sure what that means.

Vegas
SoCal
Miami

In that order for me. I could never live in Vegas though. Would not be able to function and hold down a good professional job.

And SoCal is too expensive (San Fran, San Diego by the beach).

So, Miami is where I chose.

My wife loves Philly (she lived there for 2 years) and keeps wanting to take me there.

I keep having to find ways to avoid it

Not retarded at all. That is what New York is. I go about once or twice a month for work. I feel twice as motivated and energized when I am working in that city
