More expensive for sure... But the people that work there know all about what they are selling you (at least the ones I have been to). I can go to Ace and get it right the first time. Home Depot has a bunch of DEI hires that are pissed off at the world.

…go around lunch time on a Sunday, and pick a mower that’s on top of the aisle shelves.

I did that. The lift operator was on his lunch break with no backup. I waited 45 minutes and the manager gave me $100 off a $315 mower with a Honda engine.

Everything is under lock and key and no one is available to unlock it for you. Once you finally get it unlocked, they have to escort you to the checkout. It took me 45 minutes to buy a simple edger attachment.

Are you saying that this is a consequence of not buying online for store pickup?

I know- I suck at that game I bought new string that I thought was going to be better, but it still sucked. Totally worth the $100 attachment, even after waiting

Don't worry. When Trump wins and implements his plan, shoplifters will be shot and items will come out from under lock and key.

Are you like 15 or something, and have never done a full cc transaction?
I'm 33 and have never even used the tap to pay.

Ryobi Tools is owned by a Chinese/Hong Kong company that manufactures power tools under multiple brand names. The Ryobi brand is exclusive to Home Depot. Other retailers are only authorized to sell blemished Ryobi tools.

Techtronic. Same company that make Milwaukee, Ryobi, and Hart.

You're about the right age, back in shop in the mid 80s, was there anything, of any brand, that wasn't powered by a Honda engine?

I sometimes wonder if Ace is like Mattress Firm. A money laundering front.

There's always so many people working there, most of the time outnumbering the customers.

Yes, it's great service. Yes it's more expensive. I often buy from there just for the in-and-out convenience (the equivalent of paying more for something at a convenience store, vs troubling with Wal-mart).
