Either NW Wyoming or Gallatin Gateway, Montana. The Beartooh Mountains are beautiful! The mosquitoes in the summer, however, will make you feel like you're still living in the middle of a swamp!

Both got some this week if I'm not mistaken.

It snowed overnight. The Tetons have a few inches on them.
It snows 12 months a year here, technically, it’s just at higher altitudes though. So to a point, it’s not really a thing.
I do drive on my snow tires through early May though. I took them off the first week in April, my first year, and then I slid into a guard rail two days later. It was just little storm but the roads were slick.

The simple version is you have the right to fish (Wade or float) a navigable stream as long as you stay below the high water line. You must access the water from public property, such as a bridge, park, state or federal land. There are, of course, some exceptions and there have been many legal battles over the years.
Wyoming allows you to float the rivers, but you cannot anchor or get out of the boat unless you know it is public land or subject to an access easement.

Very remote. Cool spot. We have a place in Kellogg but I want to go deeper in the forest.
