Stop having minimum charges for purchases on a card. I just want a soda I'm not spending 6 dollars at your shitty little store. This is why you fail.

I have a feeling that if that's all you're buying there, it's not going to be missed.

They'll likely lose money on your soda purchase.

You're more likely to get fat.

They just saved you a couple of pounds and a little less diabetes. You're welcome.

Stores are not allowed to do this on debit cards as the merchant's agreements with card processing networks prohibits them from setting a minimum purchase amount for debit card transactions.

The law does allow them to do so on credit cards.

There is never an issue with Circle K. The local type stores often do it on all such transactions. I have tried to tell the clerk they cannot do it on debit transactions and they just shrug and say the owner requires it and they cannot do anything about it.

Guess I should be glad they don't have someone checking for receipts when I exit.

The store has to pay a percentage of the transaction and a transaction fee for credit card purchases.

Under a certain dollar amount the transaction isn't worth it

Nobody wants your 75¢ business when it comes with 60¢ worth of credit card fees.
