Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I used to work there quite a bit and always said if I ever got rich, I would move there.

Fly fishing during the summer and elk/deer hunting during the winter….both 5 miles out of town. Pro rodeo every night during the summer. Small ranching town feel, but the ski hill brings in enough tourism to have great restaurants and hotels.

I guess you can be one the regular at Pony Bar. It’s definitely cheaper than Bozeman and you get that nice view of the tobacco root mts.

I haven't traveled that much, but our family trip to Marion, NC last year was great. Spent Thanksgiving week there. Stayed in a secluded community on top of a mountain. It was beautiful and relaxing. There were 2 grocery stores within a 10-minute drive and enough basic necessities nearby to meet most of your needs. I always tell my wife after our kids our out of the house I want to retire there.

If I had unlimited funds, a second house in the mountains during the summer. I've lived coast to coast, but still came back to Louisiana. We're I live now, never have to worry about locking my doors. Hell, I could leave my keys in my car unlocked and no worries. Gunshots heard only during hunting season. And it's quite. Neighbors spaced out but always ready to lend a hand during emergency.

Plus, you get the inside scoop on the duck races.

Chiang Mai isn’t bad, i lived there for a while.. the only two drawbacks i found for me is that there isn’t great public transportation like the Skytrain in Bangkok.. however you can get an Uber to pretty much anywhere you want to go for a fraction of what an Uber costs in America.. or of course you could buy a car or moto , but i have no interest in operating anything with a motor in Asia.. the other main drawback is that CM is in the far north of Thailand, completely landlocked and far from any beaches/islands.. for me, my choice of where to live would be Krabi or Koh Samui, both beautiful with beaches and light years better than anyplace in America, for a fraction of the cost .

I need to find a place with good golf courses, perfect weather and no liberals... I'll definitely move there...

Love Idaho but it’s been overrun with Calis.

The majority of Californians that move to Idaho are politically conservative. They move there to find likeminded people. The most liberal people I meet in Boise are from the east coast like the mayor.

Coeur d'Alene, ID if cost of living wasn't a factor.

Are we claiming that Coeur d’Alene is expensive? Compared to where?

There are a few places, but only if I could take all my friends with me.
There are things more important than geography.
