Nothing really. I came from a middle class family, so my parents worked all the time.

I wish I had not been such a shite to my parents from 15-21. I gave them a lot of grief

Dear old mom would get the mental healthcare she so desperately needed. That would've had far-reaching positive effects on the whole family, especially my dad. Oh well...

I am a parent of 3 kids ages, 16- 20 years old. I believe we all challenge our parents at this time. Mine have. I think the main thing as a parent that I try and get through to my kids when they frick up is that they are held accountable for their actions and what can they learn from it. I was hell on wheels my senior year in high school and I still respect my mom for the way she handled things with 3 teenage boys.

I wish parents wouldn't have divorced. Odd that it didn't really impact me a lot when I was younger, but the older I got the more issues it caused. I moved in with my dad when I was 15 and he died a year later. I missed a lot of time with my pops because they divorced.

Gotta fix that now FL.

Once he's gone, he's gone.

I wish mine was still here twice a day every day. I was fortunate enough to have mine growing up but he died before I graduated HS. While he was a great role model growing up, I wish I had him more for the adult part of life than the kid part.

Both parents had 2 jobs each, so there wasn't much free time for vacations, that would've been nice. Because of this never spent much time with immediate family either.

I wish they both had not smoked. They'd probably still been around and maybe I wouldn't die from lung cancer.
My parents worked hard so I widh they'd been wealthy. Not billions just millions perhaps.

My father had the communication skills of a rock. My mom just threw her Southern Baptist principles all over me and my siblings.

So, I can relate to the OP

Before my dad moved away to find work in calfornia we did do fun stuff like fishing, boat rides camping out etc. He left when I believe I was 13 years old and we never really spoke about much after I would see him periodically throughout the rest of my teenage years. I don't believe I ever remember me telling him I love him and don't believe I ever have. Just sad to me. I tell my kids now I love them at least 3 times a day.

My father had many opportunities to be rich. Bought 1000 shares of Microsoft during the initial IPO....probably worth about $14,000,000 at it's peak. HOWEVER, months after the purchase his broker told him that company wasn't going anywhere. Sell your stock and put your money in this f-ing heart machine company. Well, the heart machine company went bankrupt within a year or two.

My father was also offered 100 acres of prime Destin beach land back in the 1970's for $5000 an acre and didn't jump on it.

He finally made some decent cash on Walmart stocks but it would never even come close to those two missed opportunities.

Cajun just saw your post. I hope it will happen soon. I will probably have to get it started. It's just awkward when I am around my father like I said there has never really been father son talk between him and I. Remember the time I told him that I was finishing my enlistment in the military and out of the blue he told me his story when he was leaving Vietnam after his service. Probably the only time we had a good man to man talk. I definitely will try and sit down with him in the near future.

That all children would be treated equally and each one enjoyed for its own personality.

I would change the fact that my mom thought she had to raise her kids the exact way her parents raised her. There were minor things, that if done, she would slap the piss out of us. There were no such thing as second warnings. If she said do something.. or stop doing something.. And at some point we did it again.. You could forget that she told you already to stop, but all of a sudden you had a hand hitting you in the face or upside the head.

And I wish we spent more quality time together.
