The word "like" has spread from the Valley to every corner of the globe that speaks English. I want it wiped from the face of the Earth.

Swap the definitions of literally and figuratively, since 99% of the population literally don't know how to properly use literally

Make it mandatory that anyone who wants to come here must learn the English language

"i" and "e" are allowed in any order.

I wish it didn’t say shite in other languages without any return of being able to understand natives in those languages. That’s what makes English so hard

Eliminate all contractions
I am in full agreement. When not on TD, I spend a good bit of time thinking about my messaging and wording. Contractions introduced too many questions internally, so I just stopped using them for the most part. Possessive apostrophes used where they shouldn't be make me want to punch people.

They are substitutes for shorter and more proper words ( converse and orient), and therefore useless and unnecessary.

You know how the Spaniards pronounce Knight in Holy Grail?
"You English Kuh-nig-its"
That was close to the original pronunciation
Cognate with Knecht.
I love language threads

I’d change the name to American.

I agree that Oxford commas are necessary. I can't think of anything else, since it has been made the official language.
