You know what's worse? Having that type of situation in the most irresponsible city in the state and your governor (a fatass Hyatt trust fund baby) being too much of a pussy to put their lesbian mayor in her place. Instead they "met halfway" and went with the "extend spring break a week" option. Even the damn teachers union told her to close the schools. If you're that concerned have a few of those teachers who voted for you go in, give them their 2 meals a day, and let them intermingle until they all get it. NATURAL SELECTION at its finest.

That might sound harsh but those of you bashing the OP need to grab a clue. After seeing LaToya's prohibition list this morning I feel bad for you baws who have to put up with her crap. For the others, feel free to donate to a pantry and take PTO to watch a group of the impoverished children.

True but the kids are the ones that suffer. It's a never ending cluster!

We can’t even agree about feeding children a $.45 lunch.

This world is lost.

My wife and I both work in EBR public schools. I will give you that there are lots of garbage parents who raise bad kids. (For the record, these are also the kids who have the latest and greatest iPhone,) But, there are so many great kids who work hard and have great parents that work hard that just happen to be in hard times. Not everybody can afford private school plain and simple. Congrats to those who can. A hard working parent that is raising their child the right way does not deserve some internet bully telling them “screw you,” Get over yourself and let the kids eat.

You realize this is a source of income for 35% of Louisiana residents don't you ?

Kids = paychecks, the more you have the more you get paid.

Well yea. I think you just proved the point of why certain school districts are providing meals. Instead of kids being forced to eat the bare minimum of their choice of bologna sandwich, peanut butter sandwich, or ramen noodles. They can still eat actual meals like they would have if they were still at school.

I don't see how one could have a problem with that, but maybe its just me.

The school district where I lived cancelled classes next week. They will be set up in parking lots of 5 or 6 of the schools, handing out meals for the kids. It’s kind of nice because I paid for the meals with my taxes already but to be honest, a lot of kids will sleep through lunch.

I don't know why there isn't a general push in society to tell people to not have kids until they can afford them.

People in their early 20's are going to live another 60 years. There is no rush.

Just wait a few years, make some money, and have the same number of kids and don't live hand to mouth.

The free flow of responsibility-free sex at all costs seems to be the linchpin to debase society so nobody will ever state the obvious.

I'm in a majority white county (by a lot), and well over 50% of students get free lunches. Poverty is poverty. It may be ridiculous they have to stay open, but I'm glad we're wealthy enough of a country to be able to make sure kids are nourished.

Did he refer to a specific race? I must have missed that part.

I’ve actually never met anyone who is anti-welfare. Most people are more than happy to help those who need it or are down on their luck. The people that game the number of our systems and make a lifestyle out of it, that’s what makes people want to reform these safety nets, including myself.

Prolife does not mean that you have to support parents who screw without thinking of the consequences. One mess up ok but taxpayers should not be held accountable for these people to screw like wild animals and have it paid for by us. If they were not paid welfare money for each kid and given free healthcare for each andFREE FOODSTAMPS they would not be having all these babies , give them a free Hysterectomy

You know what controls this? Abortion. Poor people/single moms that get pregnant and know they can't have kids have abortions. Go ahead and do away with all abortions and see how many people are on welfare and poor and can't feed their kids.
Once again Christian's are all about Pro Life until they come out of the womb then it's "Screw those kids"

Yeap, and they are pieces of shite for bringing children into this world they can't take care of. And I mean you have to be a giant fricking waste with all that is out there to make sure your kid has clean clothes and food.

I get that this is a tough subject, but some of these kids will be shite parents that can't take care of their kids, and have learned the tax payers will for you.

Plus they go to school for less than half a year. Do they just starve the other days?
