Exactly what he did. It was obvious the elk didn't intend to harm him but a playful animal with horns can still frick you up.

Yep. That elk didn't just appear out of nowhere and at the end of the video it looked like his vehicle was just behind him, so he had absolutely no valid reason to be sitting on the road interacting with it.
He's damn lucky he didn't get an eye poked out with those horns.

Thankfully that Elk isn't working with much. Just his first set of antlers - even so, he's as strong as 2-3 stout men. He just didn't put that on full display. Don't sleep on a cervid of any kind. They are freaks. They can hurt/kill you in their own special "benign" way.
