The whole thing about cops cannot lie to you is probably the cops' favorite urban legend. Every undercover officer would be exposed at some point if he didn't tell some lies. They also know all the lingo so don't expect them to sound like nerds, they've got more than enough skill to infiltrate a college party if that's the goal
