One of the largest refineries in Indiana had to shut down it's oil distillery for maintenance, and that caused a hike in prices. Also, when gas was under 2 dollars this past winter it was using the cheaper winter blend gas..right now we are using the more expensive summer blend.
Sept. 15 they stop using summer blend and you'll see gas drop about 20 cents/gal.

Then it will storm in the Gulf and prices will not drop. Then switchover to winter will raise prices.

Got gas today (well now it's yesterday) in NOLA for $2.06 at Costco. Not unhappy with that price.

That reminds me, I need to let my guys know to shut the summer wells in on Sept. 15 and open the winter wells.

Gasoline prices usually drop in winter months. Natural gas prices go up, especially during a hard freeze. There is a contract cost for x amount of gas, if you need more, you're paying the current market price...if you need more, it's fricking cold and the market price has probably more than doubled what your contract price was.
