As a right hand dominant athlete, but left hand writer…I had the worst of both worlds. Smearing pencil isn’t that big of a deal. Kids hardly write in school anymore anyway. Keep him lefty.

My youngest always swung a golf club and bat lefty when he was little. We just went with it. He’s right hand dominant but bats lefty. He’s a good basketball and baseball player as a middle schooler.

Tell your wife to STFU.

So true. You guys are wired funky. Nephew writes left handed, kicks left footed, bats left ….but throws right he’s actually functional doing some things right handed while most righties can’t do shite left handed.

My youngest daughter is ambidextrous, so it wasn't a huge issue with her. She can do everything with both hands. She ended up, batting or swinging lefty, she writes right handed, but is just as good with her left and she is left footed.

Here is the biggest problem you will face, idiots at school/daycare. My son is left handed, dominant left handed in everything he does. The window licking retards we pay at daycare will not learn this and try to make him write right handed. We send messages all the time, we have talked to everyone.

The bad part is, most kids are right handed, he sees them and thinks that's what he should be doing so he tries it right handed. It's been so bad that he has actually become slightly better with his right hand so now we have to figure out if we stick with that or force him into his dominant hand.

Just assume in everything he does, someone will try to make him do it right handed unless you correct them.
