Anything but Marines and CG. Army, Navy, AF all have technical careers

That's just a false statement entirely. I have a family member that did 30 yrs in the Coast Guard and was making a ton of $$, post-retirement, solely off what he learned in his time of service.

I don't think he can swim.

Half of the people in the Navy can't swim.

Go take the ASVAB and see what your score is. Practice to raise your score and see what jobs you have the aptitude to perform. Then go Air Force. Here's a free test on line.

And, just for the record, the Army does everything the other services do. The Army has more aircraft than the air force, more boats than the navy and has conducted more amphibious operations than the USMC. We've rebuilt countries (after destroying them pretty thoroughly), toppled dictators and defended democracy in every corner of the planet. The Air Force makes coffee. The Navy makes waves. The Marine Corps makes headlines. The Army makes history.

I've notice the Army beats these lame slogans into y'alls heads. Inflatables and helicopters don't earn bragging rights. And why compare your AMPHIBIOUS stance to the Corps. Compare it to the Navy. We're the amphips! And for the record, Naval intelligence make your job a whole lot easier.

If he has a degree, I would think that he'd want to consider putting in an application for Officer Candidate School and get a commission.

Sorry, I read the first post. Yeah, OCS is the way to go, but he's not guaranteed to get it.

OCS slots in the USMC are very difficult to get right now. OP better have 20/20 eyesight, no physical issues, and be able to knock out a damn near perfect PFT before the Marines will think of sending him to Quantico.

I know plenty of former Marine & Navy folks in the Air Force now. I don't know one single former Air Force guy in any other branch. Air Force, and it's not even close.

I'd find something in the private sector and stay out of the military, but if you must-

1st- get commissioned, do NOT go in enlisted
2nd- do NOT trust your recruiter, they lie
3rd- be aircrew

Get a real job in the private sector. Create wealth, don't destroy it. We have more than enough govt employees already. Try making the world a better place.
