I had one named Carl. She was a woman of moderate size. She dismissed the idea that women are predisposed to care for their children.

I wouldnt spend the whole class arguing. I would make sure to limit my conversation to the accepted time.
ETA: Meaning that I wouldnt debate any longer than other students; just differently.

I don't remember any sociology courses being super liberal. In fact, my most liberal courses were Criticism (and English course most people fail) and my capstone English course. I had the same teacher for both, and he was super liberal and about the sweetest man I've ever met. Nobody would have ever argued with him because he wasn't preachy or loud or pompous or a dickhead.
In fact, my graduation project (topic of your choice) was on female masculinity and I focused on our binary gender system and the possibility of a safe bathroom ("family restrooms") for people who don't feel comfortable in the womens/mens rooms.
This was ~2 years before the whole bathroom debate because a big political topic. :hipster:

If you really have that much free time, audit the class, don't do it for a grade or credit.
But if you're going to do it properly, truly try to engage with the material and understand why the prof has those beliefs. Don't go just to be an arse. Most of the students don't GAF and just want the easy A.
