Sociology classes are supposed to be a place where people discuss ideas, because none of it is fact. It isnt supposed to be a situation where a teacher sits in front of the class and tells the students "how it is".

Yeah, I took two different sociology classes in college. I found some of the material to be interesting, but not interesting enough to want to debate about it. I just wanted my A and be happy I was taking a class that I didn't have to do much work outside of class..
