We need to really think about how "sick" time is allocated in the country. There has to be a real incentive to stay home if you are a member of your family is sick.

We just need a slogan:

"Don't be a dick, stay home when sick"

So if we have several kids in elementary school do we just take off the first couple of months after school starts and a few weeks after long breaks?

Sounds like businesses are doing temperature screenings at their businesses now. If you are sick they will send you home

Need to do one with RTWFU.

Remain 6' apart

Touching your face is bad

Wash your hands frequently

Feel sick? Stay home

Use a mask when you go out

fricking boomers man. First y’all want to shut down the economy for a 3 month vacation and then y’all want more sick leave on top of it. Where’s that great boomer work ethic we’ve heard so much about?

I would take two extreme positions on this.

1. Go the way of the military, you feel sick you need to go to sick call first thing in the morning to ensure you are not malingering.

2. Or just give employees so many days, they can use it for whatever the frick they want, fish, go on a bender the night before etc etc....

This is a joke. My company is doing it but they are using the crappy head scanners you can pick up at any Wal-Mart. It routinely reads my and others temp as 95 or 96 degrees F. It is just some feel good bullshite. Plus with people being asymptomatic and potentially still spreading the virus, temp scans are meaningless.

We have a lot of hourly employees and this is their options if you are sick or have someone sick in your house:

1. Take your PTO.
2. If out of PTO (which will happen due to most only get 3 weeks total, no sick time available), then you can take unpaid time off.

Most hourly people can't afford to take time off with no pay, so I'm sure they will just take tylenol before coming in to work. Then we will have a real problem.

Upper management is so short sided and being penny wise pound foolish. We've already had one case on site. Supposedly that person had limited contact with others and all are in quarantine. We've already gone to split shifts for essential exempt personnel and all non-essential that can work from home are doing it.

Temperature screenings are the dry humping equivalent of testing.

This is what was done during the last ebola outbreak while I was in West Africa. You had to have your temperature checked before entering businesses, grocery stores, schools the airport etc.

As a married man, dry humping is better than no humping.

Sick thread brah!

<——Has taken one sick day in the past 10 years

Better figure how a prospective plan doesn’t penalize the folks who fricking take care of themselves (and, admittedly are lucky) like me.

Wouldn't it make it better for everyone if when someone is sick they actually take the day instead of coming in, getting multiple people sick, and then you have several people having to take off or working sick/not as productive?
