Those who are in favor of gun control are idiots who overreact to sensationalized media reports.
The trend for gun crime continues to go down in this nation, despite what the media tries to tell you. There is no need for additional regulations/registrations/laws, etc. We just need to stop overreacting every time a tragedy happens in this country.

Well then explain exactly by what mechanisms these so-called common sense gun laws would actually stop, or even reduce, mass shootings. The status quo the last 20 years has reduced the number of gun laws and restrictions placed on gun ownership, while seeing gun-related homicides drop from 18,300 in 1993 to 8,124 in 2014.

Right. We've learned (well, a few of us) that banning things once they have become entrenched in society is a failure. No matter how many controls you put on gun ownership at the present time, you'll fail.

Guns are a tool, no different than a box cutter or diesel fuel and fertilizer. Perfectly safe when handled properly. When the intentions of the person holding the tool are evil, only the possessor can be held responsible for the outcome.

So the gov't made a terrible, reactionary decision that erodes the rights of citizens, and you are wondering why they won't make another reactionary, unconstitutional decision to strip away more rights?
Both are terrible decisions. Doesn't mean we should double down.

Taking rights away from people is a bad thing. Gov't bans are a bad thing.

Except these gun laws would do jackshit, plus they already check with the mother effin FBI before you buy a gun (yes, even at those horrible gun shows). The FBI will basically put a hold on a gun for anyone that shows up in their databases for anything outside of a speeding ticket.
But that's not good enough. It'll never be enough.

Nah, I put as much effort as you did. Do I know what the solutions are with regards to a specific policy? No. I do know that following the assault weapon ban in the 90's, mass shootings (defined as four or more deaths per incident), went down dramatically. I get that you love guns. Good for you. I understand you don't want any gun laws and would probably like to see NO restrictions. That's fine. But your inability to understand that there are other points of view out there that aren't yours is disappointing. You were probably incredible on your high school debate team. Despite what you think, no one is coming to take your guns or ammo.
