Same spot.
One big advantage New Orleans has when trying to attract Super Bowls and other championship games is that everything is so walkable.

Residents of St. Tammany should not have to rely solely on entertainment or events located in New Orleans.
I’d bet a majority of St Tammany residents would share a similar opinion
And yes, I’m NIMBY about it

Unfortunately there is no place to build a stadium for the Saints if there is to be one built. The SuperDome has the advantage of the hotels and restaurants nearby. All the TV and radio personalities love New Orleans hosting the SB bc of the proximity of great hotels and waking distance. One said he enjoyed the fact that he could walk after his hosting gig to the game with the fans while drinking a beer.
I have been to Green Bay, Dallas, and Denver. Green Bay is surrounded by homes. Dallas is in Arlington and near the Rangers ball park and amusement park. Denver was cool bc you could walk down the main street to the stadium. New Orleans unfortunately does not have good enough surrounding areas that would make sense.

Superdome is well located with I-10 access, Pontchartrain expressway and hotel walking distance.
Just need to do something on that exit on Gameday. Should be two lanes exiting and make a one way traffic circle configuration around the dome where interstate traffic does back up onto the interstate.
But if we do build a new stadium, how about Algiers Point rebuild the Gondola across the river or you can take the ferry to the game. New exit/interchange from the bridge that gets you right to the stadium.

St. Tammany Parish
I would love to be at the council chambers for its unveiling/proposal just to be entertained by the crowd.
They would flip out about the concept of added traffic.
They would flip out about it affecting drainage.
They would filp out saying development will ruin the makeup of the parish.
None of them will see the opportunity it brings.
That being said, the best location is where it is now or where the former projects above the FQ perimeter were located.

They’ll never do it bc of greedy gov that wants tax dollars. But STP needs to stop building and leave things alone before it’s ugly and more crowded over there and turns into Jeff Parish. It’s still beautiful and leaders should protect what they have. I think the saints hold NOLA together. If they were gone, I sometimes wonder why things would be like. I’m not a fan and don’t care if they ever left or not. But they bring some sense of community. With that gone, I think crime and despair would be even worse for Nola.

The OP needs to stay away from major decisions. St Tammany ? Are you 5 years old ? The superdome is completely redesigned and can evolve over time exactly where it is for another 100 years. It’s a solid structure. You couldn’t built it today material wise and its location is spot on. Please stick to cutting your grass every Saturday like everyone else in your neighborhood and stay away from thinking about commerce and location

If a new stadium was built to replace the Super Dome, where would you want it?

That ground out there is probably not stable enough to build such a large, heavy structure. Drive through Village de Lest, the subdivision off Michoud Blvd. and look at most of the homes in that area. If they weren't built on dozens of pilings, they would have broken up years ago.
Many of them have soil subsidence so bad that you can actually see the pilings under the slabs from the street. Most of the houses there have garages or carports that can't be used because the apron leading to the parking surface is broken and at a very steep angle because the driveway has subsided a foot or more over the years.
They haven't named the soil out there "coffee grinds" for nothing.

Hey Wildman, don't you mean entrepreneurs?

Politically there's no way it would be outside of Orleans Parish. It would either be the same spot or NO East. On the river close to the convention center is an interesting idea but I don't think there's a big enough parcel of land for that plus there are all the railroad tracks.

I already gave a reason why N.O. East is not a good location and like some, I didn't even touch on the crime issue.
To tear down the Dome and replace it would take quite a few years and that would mean the Saints more than likely heading back out of town to Texas to play their home games like they did after Katrina while the Dome was being repaired.
The only other stadiums are Tad Gormley with just over 26K capacity and Tulane Stadium at 30K capacity. Neither of those are big enough to pull it off.

In another state.

Superdome is better than ever and will be home to the Saints as long as they are in NOLA.
Arguably the greatest stadium ever built when you consider when it was built and how it remains viable today. The foresight from its architects is akin to the foresight that America's founding fathers had.

Keep it the frick where it is.
1) Nothing wrong with it
2) The location is key. Might have the best location of any NFL stadium close to important areas, giving us a big positive.
3) They just did a half billion dollar renovation this past year improving the inside of it. And it really does look nice.
This topic seems like it comes up often and it's equally stupid each time it does.
