If a girl you met online leaves mid date without paying you should call the police

Prosecutors said Gonzales took several women he met on dating apps out on dates and essentially left them at the table without paying any of the bills.

Gonzales was sentenced to 120 days in county jail, three years of probation and ordered to pay restitution. He was prohibited from using dating websites and apps including “PlentyOfFish” and “Bumble.” He is also required to stay 100 yards away from five restaurants

We need to stop protecting stupid people.

Which 5?
Where’s the link?

Uh, its kind of sexist to say the guy is automatically responsible to pick up the tab

This is called female privilege

Sounds like the idiot got what he deserved. If your date left mid meal it would probably be because of the “rape vibes” you were sending her way. Hard to blame her for trying to stay safe.

I wouldn't leave without paying or contributing to the bill...but how is it a crime when you leave someone at the table to pay? I went on a dinner date with an ex-girlfriend and before the dinner arrived she got pissed with me and left...Should I have called the cops?

What article?
Also this guy was showing up 15 minutes early to get a meal, then ordering another meal when the girls would show up and then bail after eating the second order. It was a whole scam, i have no sympathy for him

Doesn't say which restaurants, but this happened over 2 years. So unless he went on only one date every few months, he only bailed on a few...no pics could explain everything.

Bills averaged nearly $200 each.

He left or the girl left? I'm a bit confused.

Much more to this story that you left out. He was doing this to get free meals at nice restaurants. Forgot the number but wasn’t over 30 girls he did this to? Guy is a fraud.

Apparently 10 complained. Maybe he had a whole stable of them that just got embarrassed, paid and never said a word.
I am intrigued by the idea that legal precedent has been set. Anyone eating and leaving without paying is now subject to jail time. I would assume some kind of proof to defraud would be required. If a girl posted that she just had her third mook of the week buy her surf and turf, does that qualify as proof to defraud?

He did. He’d order extravagantly expensive meals and then dip in the middle of the date to hang the chick with the bill. So it wasn’t like he was dipping out on a $50 bill. It was in the hundreds each time.
quote:
Prosecutors alleged that between May 2016 and April 2018, Gonzales would meet women through dating apps and take them out to dinner, but before the check came, he’d skip out on his dates – leaving them to pay for his meals. He allegedly ordered fancy meals including lobster tails and expensive wine during dinner.

He's a POS, and only a man biologically.
End of story.
End of story.

Maybe he just likes to have others pay for his meals and this was all a ploy to get jail time for the food.
