I'm a lot more skeptical about fidelity the older I get. Once people break that seal, it kinda breaks them, in general. Cheating becomes normalized & they stop feeling guilty or shamed. So maybe y'all deserve each other.

Yes. I think cheating is not necessarily on a person but a chronic issue with the cheater. They just don't take things serious enough to make the tough decisions to not stray if put in the position where temptation is strong. Prob stems from something in their pasts where they just don't feel the guilt or let it bother them enough to refuse.
