So if my husband cheats on me, should I assume he will do it again and go ahead and divorce him? Or does this once a whore always a whore theory only apply to women?

The bigger question is, why would you want to stay with someone who fricked (or is fricking) someone else?

Tale as old as time. Women fall for this with cheating men more, but i've seen plenty of dumbass guys marry girls that cheated to get with them. warnign them never works.

You have to have severe mental problems to cheat to get out of a relationship. I mean just leave.

Exactly.

Dude there are 100M or so pussies in this country, probably what 25% or so of which are single. You can't find a single woman who is willing to have sex with you?

It isn't about that, usually.

It's the rush. The taboo nature of it. It starts out small...there are the little things, the flirting, the "oh no, we shouldn't"...

Next thing you know you're in each other's arms and kissing and the chemistry is exploding. It's an incredible high. A damn drug.

Then the sneaking around, what a rush.

And sure it's Stupid

But it's exhilarating. And every time you swear it's the "last time"

That "we can't do this anymore".

But everything stemming from the dying relationship at home simply serves to reinforce the bad behaviour. To drive you to your lover's arms in a stolen embrace, in a secret place.
And my God is it hot.

Because it isn't real. It's a fantasy. And it only ends in tragedy but while you are on it the ride is incredible.

You nailed it. That drug aspect is why I don't think people can really reform. Unless their sex drive tanks. The first sign of mundane boredom or problems at home, they'll be susceptible to temptation, even if they aren't outright seeking it. Once someone knows what it's like, it's easy to justify and rationalize anything.

The only hard step is the first one.

After that it's as easy as can be. The excuses flow like wine.

And people in the throes of a torrid affair will do damn near anything to protect and continue it.

Even when they're caught. Even when they've been damn near busted in the act, they'll try and weasel their way out of it.

Behaviour not unlike a junkie.

They are in a fog. They either refuse to see or just don't care about who they hurt because it feels so damn good. And there's no cure. Relapse is high.

The best advice is not to start. Because you'll fall in that hole no matter how "careful" you try to be.

I used to believe this, but now it's really hard for me to imagine. Prob more a reflection of the dysfunctions in my own relationship than anything.

Fr33 uses this, combined with a lack of morality, to do very well at Churchill's and other areas littered with unhappy married women

I envy the chap

I've seen both sides of the coin. One of those things where once you've peeked behind the curtain you can't go back. You can't unlearn what you've learned.

Hey now. I've never pursued a woman just because she was married.
