No. It's not actually. The house may have been targeted b/c it was believed either certain people or certain kinds of people were inside.
For example, there is a lot of speculation that is what happened when the Manson Family murdered Sharon Tate and her friends. The house where the murders happened was a rental house which had previously been rented by record producer Terry Melcher. Manson was bitter he couldn't score a record deal and blamed Melcher and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys for his failures. The odds are extremely high that Manson sent his cult to commit the murders at that house b/c he assumed Melcher, Wilson, and other record industry people might be there.

At times they (all locals not just cops) have almost spoken too much including the coroner giving an interview to local TV news and do so poorly enough they have to keep coming back to address inconsistencies or rumors created in the community. They also used targeted along with saying no threat to wider community initially, backed away from saying no threat while still at times using targeted off the cuff when answering questions about concerns of dangers or movement of investigation.
Saying killer targeted venue/location for drug dealers, rival gang, or in a specific crime of passion/obsession or just targeted a venue due to some personal history or connection while saying no wider threat is one thing (based on known facts not profiling). Saying targeted and no wider threat while not offering up reason why everyone doesn’t face a threat and then backtracking and even seesawing on both at times for over 2 weeks are causing confusion and a lack of confidence in safety and in the investigation for the residents and students.
Issues with inconsistent messaging and backtracking are obviously inflamed by how much this is being followed, reported on, and discussed on the internet which is something else the local authorities were not ready to handle.

Manson knew that Melcher had already moved. He had went to the house looking for Melcher months before the murders and was told by Tate's photographer that Melcher no longer lived there.

Saw this in another site...take with a BIG grain of salt.
It is a tiktok video of someone reading a supposed reddit post that has since been deleted. It mentions the 2 girls being in the same bed and was written before the dad let that become public. I don't buy it...

Went back down the rabbit hole and I’m now convinced who I think it will be. Suspect known as ‘hoodie guy’ from the food truck video. He drove that night 5 hours to his parents cabin. And is now currently out of the country.
I know he was ‘cleared’ but Twitter sleuths found enough weird stuff on this guy before he took down his socials. Makes sense why the parents of one the girls made the statement that some were cleared way too quickly. My money would be on him at this point.

Showalter (hoodie guy) is out of country?
There are 3 Jacks that keep coming up as well a Jake. I read once elsewhere the Jack that drove them home had gone out of country, but it was a post and might have gotten them mixed up like I do.
One of them or at this point someone completely different has come up as living in apartments close to house that Reddit or others brought up as suspicious. Can’t remember name.
Police need to communicate more often with Kaylee’s dad to try to settle him down a little. As soon as he started talking about how the police have stopped sharing as much with him possibly due to suspected leaks adding that he was trust worthy and knew stuff he has dropped a couple of big ones.

Thought it was interesting that they cleared the 2 “stalkers” from October incident, but have not really explain why the #1 suspect in most people’s eyes, hoodie guy (JS), was cleared. That kid and his family are getting massively harassed and dragged through the mud. If he’s cleared, they should explain it so the family can try to use that against harassers….just saying. It’s interesting they won’t comment on JS anymore

I haven’t followed this as closely as others, but I’ve noticed her name keeps popping up. From stalkers, to her injuries, and something suspicious about a new car she recently purchased.
Are there theories she was the primary target?
