Someone point him in the right direction:
I would point Musk at red tape policies that probably resulted from Immigration lawyer lobby to create about 100 extra steps you can't do without a lawyer.
I would point Musk away from just firing 1000 employees in the immigration departments and replacing them with a private company that uses Indian call centers.

Wait you think Musk is the problem and not bringing in 14 million people in 3 years for a system they couldn’t handle the previous rates of under 1 million per year isn’t a problem

Hispanics overall are hard working people. IF they take a day off it's Sunday and many don't take Sunday off.
Exactly. Trump needs to make it mandatory for every American to work 6 days a week 10hrs a day min or you don't get to take ANY tax deductions.
Make America Work Hard Again.

I was responding to the post (the one I quoted by the way) that said to point Musk at the layers of bureaucracy involved in getting work visas.

If the laborers are illegal, who should get in trouble? Me? The handyman? The sub-contractor who gathers the laborers? Just the laborers?
All of you, deported.

I don't think anybody has a problem with people here legally.
Canada has blown up because of legal immigration. It’s the same situation in Ireland.
It’s who these people are, regardless of legal status.

I have a handyman we've used on several bigger projects at our house. He will sub-contract for more labor on some things. Guys are hispanic, but he's not paying them directly. He makes the sub-contractor who brings the crew sign a piece of paper saying they are no undocumented workers in the crew. That's really all he can do.
If the laborers are illegal, who should get in trouble? Me? The handyman? The sub-contractor who gathers the laborers? Just the laborers?
Exactly. That was my example from my own small business. I'm fairly certain that the people who used to do cleaning were mainly illegals but the company has paperwork that says they're not.
Like I was saying, I decided to just get my own employees to do a lot of this stuff but it costs me twice as much.
It's big companies that are subcontracting this kind of work in the tens of thousands that could change things.
But they pretty much have to do it willingly like me.
Most importantly, they then need a lot more Americans who make a little more money to pay extra for that choice.

Everyone. When this happen, people will start taking the problem more serious and making sure they are hiring people legally allowed to work in this country.
Currently, everyone just wants to play the "It's not my fault" game.
You're either serious about fixing the problem or you're not.

15-20 million is gonna be tough to beat
Do you have an actual source for this number or did you just make it up like most of the stats regurgitated by MAGA?
According to the Center for Immigration studies, the number is actually 6.4 million. However that includes legal and illegal, illegal is only estimated to be 3.7 million.

I think we should just deport anyone who does it. Send them along with the rest.
I'm not sure that would ever be legally possible but what you have to do is make the pain of not following the laws more severe than the benefits of not following the laws. This country fails at that at almost every instance starting with raising children and ending with maintaining law and order through the country.

If a guy here illegally pays income taxes, property taxes, Medicare, and State income taxes, and hes claiming 4 kids (somehow), I know damn well he isnt paying more taxes that I am
Thats exactly how hes using tax dollars for assistance. By your own admission
You didnt think this one all the way thru

You're either serious about fixing the problem or you're not.
I question if politicians are really serious about fixing the problem when Trump himself (along with almost every one R or D) has claimed "it's not my fault" over all the history of illegal workers in his properties.
I'm sure the solution they and their wealthy inner circle of supporters will come up won't hurt their bottom lines.
It'll be solutions full of sound and fury but ultimately result in some large corporations chain franchising more subcontracted labor and raising prices for middle class folks.

They have an opportunity to register on line right now, deport, and file to return. If they don’t register and are caught, they can never apply to come. Never ever.

Cost over $40k in total over 15 years for a married couple I know that did it right. Our government does not make it easy unless you are illegal and get triple in monthly benefits than an average SS beneficiary that paid into the system.

These folks who are actively working and contributing to our society in a net positive way should be given a fast track for approved work visas.

Why don't the "good ones" try to get citizenship or a work visa?
Because the system is broken and needs to be burned down and overhauled. I have someone employed who has a work visa. She came here illegally way back in the day. How she got the work visa I don’t know. She has a close knit family and is very religious. I paid an immigration attorney all fees to get her citizenship. Two years go by and she tells me the attorney got her visa renewed. I call the lawyer and said that’s great but you need to focus on citizenship. He tells me about some loophole that will go into effect the next time she renews, and gets a permanent resident status but you won’t ever become a citizen. I said why are we not shooting for citizenship? He tells me the whole system is a mess and overwhelmed. He has clients who have court dates five years from now. There is little chance with all the illegals pouring in.
It’s broken.
What I wish Trump did/does is establish deadlines. The first deadline is if you are illegal you need to register with ice. You have a year to do so. Once that expires and you are not registered you are deported. After you register, you get a time limit to make progress on citizenship (or permanent resident)…..let’s say 3 to 5 years. During that time if you commit a felony you will be deported. Once the time expires, if you are not a citizen yet you need to show the progress you made to becoming a citizen, and can get an extension if you are moving along but need more time.
That would weed out the people striving for the American dream from the immorals, and people who send all their American made money to their home country and their families.

Good luck with that. My wife has been working on getting her citizenship for 5 years. We've spent somewhere around $10k and she still doesn't have her blue passport.
