Well on a different note, if this happens nobody will be around to care anyway.

Why are you making stuff up? US has deployed and proven weapons to take out missiles in the ballistic phase (Navy’s SM-3 on Aegis equipped cruisers).
The issue is if you don’t neutralize a missile before the warheads deploy, you probably won’t be able to get them all.

I listened to an interview with her and didn’t make it 10 minutes. She is nothing but a fear monger and is bringing up things that have been in play since 1960. Nothing new, just a journalist talking mostly nonsense.

Mr McKittrick,
after very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new defense system sucks.

25 submarines couldn’t shoot down a group of ICBM’s regardless of where they are located and that is the issue. Russia wouldn’t launch a single missile and neither would we. There is no defense against it

The US has never consistently proven they could target and shoot down more than a handful of missiles at once which is something continually ignored. One or two missiles that we have advanced warning on, probably but that is extremely unlikely to ever happen

We have ZERO way of defending ourselves against them. Nothing to shoot these out the sky effectively.
Should’ve also looked at Aegis. And I’m sure a whole host of other classified stuff.

The US Army has THAADS deployed to intercept the missiles. The USN has SM6 missiles on its ships which can intercept them. The USAF, Army, and Navy probably have some stuff that we do not know about that can get the job done as well.

The Navy’s ABM system is destroyer-based, using Aegis radar and an extended range Standard Missile for ballistic missile interception. Its range is good enough to take out low orbit satellites as well:

I don’t think they have any defense against them either.
If they’re ever launched by either country, defensive measures won’t matter.

Yeah what that poster said is totally false. Ballistic missiles can be shot down during all 3 phases.
The problem with shooting down during boost phase is there isn't enough time from launch to alert and our countermeasure usually wouldn't be close enough. Midcourse phase is what most missile defense systems aim for. We recently shot down one of Iran's missiles headed for Israel outside of the atmosphere. Then there are systems like THAAD and AEGIS for missiles in the terminal phase.
I'm not sure where everyone has gotten the idea that we couldn't even dream of shooting down Russian (or any other country's) missiles. It's literally in the term "Ballistic Missile". "Ballistic" simply means it follows a ballistic trajectory (an arc), so if the computers know the angle and speed they can do a couple calculations and fire to where it intersects with its ballistic trajectory.

Do we have tons of navy destroyers and army anti-ballistic missile batteries just on standby all over the country? I’m thinking no.
