IOW Tampa.
My sister was in Andrew's northern eyewall, I was just East of Michael's eastern eyewall. We are now both around Tampa Bay. (My sister was also in San Fran for the 89 Earthquake).
Trends suck.
Fear not. Hurricanes don't make landfall in Tampa Bay.

Another thing to consider, if this gets more organized and deeper faster than models are showing then that will more than be adequate to rough out that little upper level feature everyone is focusing on.

Some would say maybe North of Tampa. Others say maybe South of Tampa.
Go South Young Man.

Seriously!
I don’t want to take anything away from those of you that can speak in acronym-ism and weather-ese as I’m impressed. But can one of you start a thread, that in plain and understandable language simply discusses the potential landfall of said storms, like you’re Margaret Orr speaking to her pudding eating audience, but oh so much more accurate and without the drama!
I know that’s not as impressive or sexy to your weather loving buds, but it will reach a much larger audience than these posts do.
Thanks.

Can the OP be any less informative?

TBH, the general public really shouldn't know about this yet because there is not enough information available to give a dumbed down audience an accurate prediction.
This thread is speculating on computer speculations. If you are not interested in that, then don't read it.

So what you’re saying is that this is a closed thread for those that only speculate on the forecasting of storms and their paths, and those that are in possible harms way needn’t pay attention until the “real guys” on regional newscasts start chiming in.
It’s a thread that non-weather nerds shouldn’t click on.
Do I have that right?
No problem. Many TD threads are pretty informative. This one, by your own account, seems to be a dick swinging contest that shouldn’t be read by those of us not in the clique. How constructive.
Edited: just for clarity, I didn’t want to take or change anything in or of these threads. I just asked if it were possible to start a new thread for those of us that don’t follow the weather like the intelligent posters in this thread. Asked and answered. Thanks.

for official guidance, follow the national hurricane center. They have to make their announcements readable at a third grade level by Federal law

I have a buddy thats in operations for a company that has maritime interests in the Gulf and they have private forecasting. I texted him and asked what their forecast was and he replied that it was the Big Bend, a little north of Crystal River. But he said they hedged their bet by cautioning that it was too long term to place a lot of confidence in.

I prefer 'canes to quakes and tornados, at least you have some warning with a 'cane.

GFS 9/23 00z is further south on Florida than the 9/22 18z run.
