What it did to the pine trees and agriculture from PC/Mexico Beach northeast into GA was something you could only appreciate from the air because it had dropped trees in a consistent path that was visible for 70+ miles.
I remember driving down I-10 4 or 5 months after and being awestruck by how many pine trees were snapped 1/2 way up that were 50+ miles off the coast.

The part where Florida won the game and cucked LSU is never mentioned as this saga is retold
I wish i could ban people from the thread.

I hate Hurricanes...but I love these threads

Ida snapped a lot of trees almost all the way to Sorrento where it veered more to the east
Baton Rouge got lucky during Ida, it could have been much worse had that storm not shifted the way it did

This is about a mile away from my home about 5-6 miles north of Lake Charles. This is just one of the thousands of pine trees that were twisted like tooth picks. It was the first time I’ve ever seen that happen also.
Not trying to compare, just showing off the damage that was similar from Laura.
This is consistent with any major hurricane that comes ashore and a primary reason why I refuse to allow any pine trees within range of my house in a storm zone.
You want trees near your house plant a palm, but any pine tree near your house is a major threat in both wind and heavy rain situations. Doesn't matter if they twist, break in half or just topple because the roots are soaked in a flash flood or storm surge situation, the result is the same.
Cut them down and save the heartache later.

What's going on? The only Euro I see is the last half-arse 90 hour one.

Is the loop still 'there'?
Real question - do gulf storms actually have any real impact in dissipating heat in the water or is that largely negligible? Will the path of this storm leave measurably cooler water in its wake for any significant period of time?
