Its disorganized so it looks like it is bouncing around a bit. Def should be a more eastern route though.

If it hits the Cape, it hits the same area that was decimated in 2018 by Michael.
I think the LA people don’t appreciate what Michael did to the FL gulf coast because most of them stay from OB to 30A.
You keep east on 98 to Panama City and Mexico Beach and there are still half rebuilt houses and flattened lots through that whole stretch and my understanding is that Port Saint Joe got it pretty bad too with the storm surge.
No one has ever had a worse run than LA the last few years and I certainly would never downplay what you’ve experienced, but let’s not pretend that FL has been free and clear when Pensacola/Perdido just lost a bridge two years ago for Sally and whole towns were wiped off the map within the last 5 years.

Looks way more east at the +114. I hope I am dead wrong and this thing is in Florida

Looks to shoot the gap and then starts rapidly intensifying

I managed some cleanup in Marianna (80 miles inland). I've never seen anything like it. Even worse than Katrina, Rita, and the last few that hit. It was incredible.

The turn to the north appears to begin after shooting the gap. This is going into Florida.
EDIT: eh, maybe not. Jogged back to the NW again.

I have a house on the cape shrimpdick. It's more than just about travel plans.
I have a house in LA, a house in the panhandle and a house south of Tampa. I’m not worried or boarding up any. One is likely to get hit. shite happens.

If you drive up 71 through Wewahitchka and up to Marianna, it's like someone clearcut 50,000 acres. Trees are still bent to hell. It just did not get the notoriety due to low population density. But at the end of the day it was still a destructive hurricane that affected a lot of lives.

So this model run is potentially good news for Nola correct?

You're going to be right. It's already made its turn. Go to Florida GFS

might as well buy one if you are in a hurricane prone area

I saw video of 30 year old pine trees hitting the ground one way, whipping back to the ground the other way, then snapping 20 feet up like a twig. All of them! It looked like someone took a weed eater to the trees from Panama City up to the FL/GA line.

Generator purchase on/off?
Don't wait until all the hardware stores are sold out.
Bought mine a couple of years ago. Used it, and then ran it until it was out of fuel, cleaned, and stored until needed.
