Wasn’t the worst of the storm surge from Laura around Rockefeller refuge where it’s sparsely inhabited? Maybe some others can confirm?
Yea, I think that is correct. Some houses in Creole had like 6’-8’ of water. Lake Charles saw very little surge. Maybe a couple of feet. Was expecting a Rita/Ike type surge but thankfully it was nothing like that.

I will not tell insurance. My truck is older than dirt and I have been waiting for prices to come back down. It still runs good, though. I may just Krylon it back to "new" since I don't care.

That pic loaded slowly for me
My shallow self esteem forces me to announce that I knew what it was before the balls showed up

yeah... fortunately all the worst surge went into some barren swampland instead of into LC

Yeah, I really like this app too. It's a great graphical representation of the rain swathe.

If cell towers are down what does that mean for hotspots? Don't they operate differently? Just curious as I'm about to try and reach out to multiple colleagues via text, but if personal email works better I have a few and think we might could link up that way.
Why don’t you just try both and see what you get back?

Can I get a scale for the colors by chance?

Seeing the surge maps was enough for me that night. I went to bed after that.
That's when I started drinking.

I haven’t kept up with him in a while. He always seemed like a sensationalist to me. What’s his deal these days?
He's chasing views/subs. Part of that is the way YouTube is, though, but he chose to go wide open into it and embrace the sensationalism.
He also invested a crap ton of money into his current ventures. He's pretty much boom or bust now.

I'm liking the hourly rate product on Radar Omega. It has been pretty damn accurate since I've started paying attention to it. Helpful, too. It is a one-up on RadarScope for me.

We were able to get full refunds on flights, tickets, hotels. Everything. Turned around and booked Disneyland for the exact same time for like $1000 cheaper.

Daytona is going to get hammered by that main rain band.
