I want to know why Florida always gets daytime hurricanes and Louisiana gets the nighttime ones?

I'm calling this a conspiracy against Louisiana.

That's how hurricanes are structured. People have been conditioned to think hurricane force winds extend the entire duration of the structure. In reality they're in a narrow area around the core.

Right but TS winds normally extend out much further (100+ miles). The winds they are getting now don’t look close to that. Maybe 25 mph.

The eye is clearing out by the second. I would be surprised if they don't upgrade this to 160 mph.

Are you sure it is a new video? Irma did the same thing and there is video out there of it.

There is some dry air that’s been working its way around the southern and eastern side for the last day. It’s why there’s not a ton of precip on that side. You need precip to drag the fast winds aloft down to the surface. The wind isn’t getting pulled down yet so it’s pretty light there right now.

Why hurricanes seem to ebb and flow. They have a banded structure. Winds pick up fast in the rain bands then lull after they pass.

My goodness. In the last inbound pass thru the SW eyewall, plane was jolted in what was a ~700 ft immediate change in altitude. Then they circle in the eye, probably to catch their breath. Behaving *exactly* like my Michael landfall mission (2018). Intensification likely ongoing.
