Mike Pitts with his "filibuster by amendment". He may look bad to many in this state, but he probably secured reelection in his district for many terms to come.
You know, those same people that I talked to today were convinced that Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, and Lindsay Graham were done in political life after supporting this move. I disagreed with them.
On the local level, some Republicans will be voted out because they voted for this (especially in the Upstate), but statewide and nationally, the Republicans that supported this look good.

Haley only did this to secure her next political stop, either as a VP nominee or an ambassador somewhere. National GOP leaned on her and her tears sprang from knowing she was done if she didn't deliver. IMO
