I thought about going to Columbia to see this. I chose to stay in town and make money instead.

Parking wasn't an issue. I parked at a meter at USC (the campus that nobody seems to know about or utilize during football season or political events) and walked.

The war was lost. The confeds were the 19th century version of ISIS. Time to move on. Continuing slavery was not a good idea, and there is no way to spin it. Be glad the stars and strips beat oppression.

I always loved running into these people when I lived in SC, especially the northern students at USC.
They would say things like, "South Carolina is so backwards/so racist. What a piss poor state." But when I asked where they wanted to live after college, they would always say they wanted to stay in SC. The holier-than-thou attitude they exhibited always fascinated me. Yet their attitudes would change after a few years of realizing South Carolina really isn't that bad.
They would never admit it, but moving to the South always showed that the Midwest and most of the Northeast is just a bubble with little diversity and culture.
