I used to go skiing in Lake Tahoe, now forecast for ten or more feet of snow (two people?)

That is like holy spit territory. Good luck to one and all out there. I wonder if Reno will be hit as well or will that be the evacuation city since it is 90 minutes away.

The ski chairs are supposed to be like ten feet above ground before they scoot down...

I love that guy on the webcam right now stumbling around putting some kind of poles in the snow. That said there is a big snow plow up a notch at the Smugglers lift, surely they cannot think they will open tommorow?

10 feet isn’t a good pow day. That would actually be pretty miserable skiing.

This is like two years in a row with absolutely unreal levels of snow...correct? Safe to say the reservoirs are gonna be even more topped off right?

You know your oldest boy, Victor, was picked up in Reno for some petty theft that you don't even know about???

Im east of Reno and it’s been Gail force winds for the past 2 days. Dust and blowing snow, can’t hardly go outside.

Went there for my bachelor party 5 years ago and a blizzard hit. It was wild. It dumps out there.

No idea on them specifically but resorts have already closed for the weekend. If you’re there right now, you’re in for the duration.

All the resorts skiing is closed. They don’t want people up there right now.

That’s just not 100% accurate.
My Ikon Pass app shows Mammoth is still running, although most of their events have been cancelled.

Ages ago there was an article about what conditions favor avalanches. IIRC one of them was older, melted and then refrozen snow followed by very dry masses of snow.

IF that were to be correct, wouldn't a lot of the currently falling snow end up at the bottom of the mountains, moved there by avalanches?
