I will not be getting the vaccine. Not worth the risk. I had it and only lost my taste.
Can you imagine the reaction if the vaccine caused a majority of people who took it to lose their sense of taste and smell? THe sky would be falling. Yet people are like, "nope, not getting the vaccine. I only lost my sense of taste and smell with the actual virus!"
Who knows what else this virus is doing to you. Some viruses cause cancer. I guess take that chance and see what happens in the years ahead.

There is a moral/ethical component to the public policy argument to reach herd immunity.
However variants may change the entire game. It's going to be like chancing influenza every season. The good news about influenza people have not gone full blown Karen. The flu shot is only encouraged not mandatory.
I sure wish scientist could apply the same science to COVID as they do to influenza.

If you do not see the problem with Covid passports, new databases with private health information run by God knows who, restrictions on employment and freedom of movement etc, God help you.
I never once stated that there was no problem with that. You keep implying that I have. I even said explicitly that I wasn’t advocating that they start requiring the vaccine at jobs/businesses.
As already stated, I was simply laughing at you for not understanding what HIPAA governs.
Damn. Can’t read OR spell. Tough scene.

I’m not shocked you completely ignored my question and posted an angry, false accusation instead
You are getting too predictable

Do you live somewhere that the covid vaccine is mandatory?

Congratulations on both your recent appointment as Chief of the Fat Finger Police and on your zeal to hand over your freedom on demand because the man with the good hair on tv told you it was virtuous.

I can’t tell if pimp is 14 or 75. His posting style resembles both.

I did answer you. I told you you had clearly not thought through the implications and unintended consequences of your positions. It was an invitation for you to engage your brain . Sorry not sorry it overwhelmed you.

I got the J&J vaccine. So far the only side effect is an overwhelming need to buy Microsoft products.

There are plenty of health care providers that if you do not have the flu shot the employees have to wear PPE through the flu season. Both my wife's hospitals are like this, they have a seasonal notation on their ID badge when they get the flu shot. I am making this point just to illustrate that there are indeed consequences in some sectors for not having the flu shot.
I personally hope that we reach herd immunity without the need for anyone to get a vaccine who does not want to. I further think domestic restrictions should be limited to things like hospital and congregate living visitation.

Not yet but the incrementalism is easily predictable unless it stopped by the courts (which I have little faith in). My employer HR dept. is already asking the employees to send in copies of their vaccination cards once vaccinated. Some employees are joyfully complying and making sure everyone knows they were vaccinated getting some major brown nosing points. Why does my employer need this information? I'm going to ignore it for as long as I can, until I can't, I guess. My employer has NEVER asked for proof of any other kind of vaccination. This is a totally novel request and borders on disturbing, IMO.

There are a bunch of really angry covidiots posting here that just can't understand why some people wait for the vaccine.
I wish they shared your sentiments, from the other side.

The law is pretty much against limiting employers from mandating a vaccine with the normal opt-outs. The E&L division of my firm has been giving this as their blanket advice 48 hours after the vaccines were announced. The employer's liability would be limited to workers comp as a requirement of employment.
