Things went weird.

quote:

(Verse 1)
Well, down in the bayou, where the moss hangs low,
A Cajun crawfish boil, it's a lively show.
Amos Moses in the swamp, he's a legend, you see,
With his zest for life and that wild jubilee.

(Chorus)
Cajun spices in the air, boilin' pots a-bubblin' there,
Dancin' to the fiddle's tune, under that Louisiana moon.
Grab them crawfish, don't be shy, let the good times multiply,
Amos Moses leads the way, in this crawfish boil today.

(Verse 2)
The sun sets low, the bayou comes alive,
Families gather 'round, laughter starts to thrive.
With corn and potatoes, andouille by the pound,
Seasoned to perfection, spread across the ground.

(Chorus)
Cajun spices in the air, boilin' pots a-bubblin' there,
Dancin' to the fiddle's tune, under that Louisiana moon.
Grab them crawfish, don't be shy, let the good times multiply,
Amos Moses leads the way, in this crawfish boil today.

(Bridge)
Accordion's playin', banjo's strummin' too,
Gumbo and jambalaya, in the pot they stew.
Friends and kinfolk gather 'round the firelight,
Swamp tales and laughter, through the night.

(Chorus)
Cajun spices in the air, boilin' pots a-bubblin' there,
Dancin' to the fiddle's tune, under that Louisiana moon.
Grab them crawfish, don't be shy, let the good times multiply,
Amos Moses leads the way, in this crawfish boil today.

(Outro)
So here's to Amos Moses, a true Cajun soul,
With his crawfish boil, he makes the good times roll.
In the heart of the bayou, where the firelight gleams,
A cajun crawfish boil, a shared dream.

How is mean ol amos the host of this

Unrelated.

Cajuns are and remain overwhelmingly Roman Catholic and of Acadian/French descent. Therefore Amos Moses probably wasn’t really a Cajun.

How many Cajuns you know names Amos or Moses?

Sooooo that song sucks as a Jerry Reed song. I’m a huge Jerry Reed fan and have learned a large portion of his repertoire on guitar. I even sing quite a few of his songs as well.

The syllables of the chorus don’t match up with the form Jerry often uses in his songs. Not to mention the allusions to characters and lines from his own songs. And it doesn’t capture the character of Amos at all.

Maybe ChatGPT5 will do better.

Knew three Amos. Old timers. Would be close or over 100 if they were still alive. I'm certain they grew up speaking Cajun French until they went to school. If they went to school.

Don't know any Moses.

Every time I see ChatGPT’s lyrics to anything, it’s a 4 line verse and a 4 line chorus.

Verses need to be like 8 lines. Or else the chorus needs to be 2. It’s weird that they’re all the same stanza.

He was hilarious.

My late Cajun grandfather was named Moses-- actually the FRENCH version of Moses-- Mouise (also sometimes spelled Moise).

Mouise is also the name of his son, who is my uncle and godfather.
