Start seeing an optometrist. You're in that age range where you will see a slow degrading, then it will level off in your mid to late 50s. Based on your description, I would expect you to need bifocals. Get prescription glasses. I use progressive lenses (no line) rather than traditional bifocals, and it's an easy fix unless you are too vain to wear glasses.

I see great close up but anything past about 15-20 feet gets a little out of focus and blurry. It is especially annoying in a classroom setting because with glasses on up close is blurry and without glasses I cant see well across a room. I asked about lasik or something but the doctor told me there is no procedure for this.

You still can get bifocals with the near portion being clear glass.

I’m 43, had LASIK at 30, and hoped I would get to at least 45 or even 50, but my eyes are starting to fail me as well. I’m probably 20/30 or 20/40, so it’s not terrible yet, but right after surgery I was 20/10. I haven’t looked in to any surgical remedies as of yet. I know LASIK is not an option again, but I think there are some other options that didn’t used to be available.
Same exact scenario for me except I just made 41 and had LASIK when I was 25. Definitely noticing it and need to get checked out.

I went and saw a specialist and the surgery they suggested is a Refractive Lens Exchange. Only $18k. My choices are do it now at 52 or wait until 62 when Medicare picks up half the tab. Either way, doesn't matter as I'll eventually need cataract surgery and a RLE is basic alternative. It's inevitable.
I'll wait until 62 at this point and just go get contacts for now.
