I'm thinking it all began with his admission of eating arse or something along those lines.

Gates is absolute trash musically, professionally, and personally. Can't wait for his time in the local spot light to be over.

Mrs P actually listened to that shite.

Cool story, some guy I ubered a few weeks ago gave me free tickets to his show (no clue why he thought that was a good tip, I was rocking at to Wilco at the time). I told her about it after I threw them away, frick her and her shitty taste in music.

People tend to think he's Michael Jackson reincarnated.

Lol never, I'm just unfortunate to have had to deal with him and his group and they're an enormous pain in the arse that isn't worth the hassle.

FWIW while I do listen to some of his music its not often.

I honestly think it is because most of his popular songs are very catchy both lyrically and beat wise. Kind of music to party/have a good time too. I'm willing to go on a limb and say he is even more popular here because he is from here and not as popular say more north.

On the rare occasion I linger off of my waylon, merle, hank...ect, to listen to some "rap" I tend to listen to either old school or Boosie. IMO those two, their lyrics actually tell a story more often true than not. Its not the same main stream pop bottles, women, drugs, money ect. ect. ect. However, theres really a narrow playlist with old school/boosie rap to play when it comes to say a party/good time.

just my .02, new rap is just like new country it all sounds the same to me.

Growing up in the 2000's everyone was infatuated with Wayne. Now Gates is this generations Wayne. I mean he has a few songs that are alright but I don't think he's anything special.

i thought he was a national sensation. Maybe he's just local. I knew he was from BR but thought he had gotten big enough to be national.
