I need a horologists' opinion on Omega Watches

Entry level to luxury watches. Not quite a Rolex but some value here? What is the consensus on their Seamaster series?
Yes, I googled horologists. Nerds.

Look at Breitling. I have a Crosswind Special just like the pictured watch. I've had it for a while and wouldn't give it up. Not quite as expensive, most of the time, as a Rolex but worth every penny.

Get a Speedmaster--the Apollo moonwatch is the best looking Omega imo

The watch is about $6,000.00. I'd like to buy something and pass down to my son.
The Rolex Oysters are about similar price. Rolex always seems to hold its value. This isn't an investment but be cool if it was a collectors thing.

I like Omega. Probably not my first choice in whatever price range you've got, but not sure why you'd hesitate.

Are you saying Omega is not as good as rolex?

I'm repeating what I was told at this jewelry store. I was told they're #3 really in sales globally.

Rolex will hold it's value a lot better than Omega. Nothing wrong with them, it's just how it is.
I would fork over the extra $2k and get a Submariner.
ETA: What model are you looking at? I'm sure you can get almost any Seamaster for less than $6k.

I really like the ceramic Seamaster.
Omega is a solid brand of watch.

Sales=/=quality
Is an F-150 the highest quality car in the world?
