That has to be taxable. I know it's not deductible.
Most gifts are under the 18k per person (36k per married couple) annual limit, but 64K of Swift's gift should be taxable. Let's see if one of the 10,000 new IRS agents step in.

I know several people who have serious money. For every PR donation they make, there are 100’s of donations to people/causes that no one ever hears about.

But... What is she supposed to do? Donate 140mm so that it actually impacts her? I'm pretty sure the recipients are thankful ( for the 100k and the..hypothetical 250.00). If ALL she ever did was donate 100k to this go fund me...then maybe she could catch some flak but to her credit that is certainly not the case
