What really is astounding to me was just how clear the evidence was that these guys were not guilty. Any journalist or lawyer could have seen the gaping holes in narrative early on if they cared to look. Only a few did - like Jay Bilas.

If they accepted a cash settlement, there probably was a confidentiality agreement. Just best not to talk about the ordeal at all.

The guy who lived in the house had DNA on the finger nail.
Same guy gave a list to the police of the people at the party and conveniently left off the names of the other two accused...who were there. All 3 pick out of a lineup.
Eyewitness neighbors heard the racist comment (Thank your Grandfather for my cotton shirt)

Even if that's the case, none of the three accused players matched any DNA samples. Evans wasn't even in Durham the night of the party, and Seligmann was at an ATM, on camera, at the only possible time anything could have happened.

Wrong, the guy who lived in the house matched a profile of 2% of the population that could match the DNA sample taken from his trashcan.

He was in a bar fight with multiple rich white college kids in DC previously and had to do some community service. That’s it for Finnerty.
Nothing for Seligmann at all and Evans had one noise violation.
ETA: the real experts in the case like KC Johnson believe they players got 20 million total, not per person.
