The dealer was PISSED b/c he obviously didn't tell them he was doing that until time to sign the papers. You shady smart frickers.
Most wont let you put over a certain amount. I've had them limit at 5k and draw a hard line. Last car I bought, I was putting 20k down. I asked how much I could put on the card and he asked how much I was looking to put down. I told him as much as they'd allow. He told me if I gave him all excellent on the customer satisfaction survey I could put 20k. Got a free flight out of that. I gave him all poor scores on his section of the survey.
Didn't actually do that last part, but it's the internet, why not.

What would the OT do?
Pay by CC and get your points. They don't get charged 5% by the CC processing company.

Wouldn't fees like this be factored into the price of the job? If not, they might want to rethink how their pricing.

The lady says, "we take credit card, but we get charged 5% by the company" in a sad woe is me tone. I was gonna pay w/ CC because of points, but now I kinda feel bad. What would the OT do?
Offer to pay 5% less by using other methods

Correct
About 15 years ago we were 4+. If they have shitty credit they could be paying a higher rate than 3-4.

Just went to their website and in big bold letters it says "Accept Major Credit Cards"
I don't feel so bad now. They getting the card!
