We had a stop sign by my parents house and can’t count the times I came swerving home after a long night only to see an owl perched on top of that sign. They also had a one (maybe same one, i don’t know) that would hang out in the pine tree by my window. Id hoot at him and he’d hoot at me.
Owls are fascinating animals. Ferocious, yes. An owl can spot a rodent IN THe DARK from over 500 feet away. Their eyes are tubular shaped, not round so they can’t move them like we do. It’s why owls have so much neck movement.
Also, they have cavities in their head their hold pools of blood that allow them to turn their head 270 degrees without cutting off the blood supply to their brain. They temporarily use that stored blood when looking backwards like the creepy bastards they are.

And the songbirds and small rodents cheered. I drive past large cornfields where the corn has been harvested. Each time a corn picker dumps its load of shelled corn into a truck, it leaves a bushel of shelled corn on the ground. Each time I pass there are Owls and hawks sitting on telephone poles waiting for small birds and rodents to come eat the corn.
There have been reports of large owls attacking and killing human beings.

I was hunting one morning as a teen. Found a owl that flew into barbed wire fence. It was hung and had been there for I'd say at least 12+ hours.
I helped it the only way I could and it broke my heart.

I hit an owl once.
I was driving an '86 Nissan Sentra (like 70HP) on a straightaway on a deserted highway, and I had that thing wide open, and was approaching 90
Owl swooped down onto the highway to go after a mouse or something, right in front of me. Hit it with the middle of my front bumper. That bird disintegrated.
You would think that would total a Sentra, but it held up fine. The shock took 2 years off my life, though. I slowed it down.

Reporting you to authorities for killing a federally protected bird of prey.
I’ll split any reward with you tho.

I saw an owl land on a golf course fairway one morning. It spread it's wings and was MASSIVE. I've seen small ones before but this thing was bigger than an American Bald Eagle.

I guess it is going to be okay and was just stunned. I was going to be incredibly upset if it was dead because it was beautiful.
I hit an owl tonight.
I hit an owl in September, it was also huge.
How thick the legs were surprised me the most.
It was not just stunned...
