I'm upset that the Beaver ain't coming as well... but damn that was announced 5 months ago that they were pulling out of the deal.

And for those of you who are saying Laffy... I need some proof. I agree that it makes sense... but I need some proof.

We stopped at the one in Baytown on our way home from Austin today. I didn't find their prices high. Gas was 1.96 and ice is .99 for a 20lb bag. No one around here has that. I just wish places around here were held to their standard. The quality of employee and cleanliness of the store are why I stop every time we pass.

I don't think it is coming to Lafayette either. I believe they did not get the tax credits they needed from the state and pulled out of both planned Louisiana locations.
Last I heard is that they are focusing on Florida now.

I occasionally drive to Houston by myself or just with kids to visit family, and it is by far the safest and cleanest place to stop on the drive.

Laffy has the state's only Field & Stream store too.

I think it's going to be my final destination. I'm semi-retired and taking care of my parents here in Ruston. Know a few people there and have really enjoyed Laffy when I've visited. Think I'd rather live there than BR or NOLA. Really want to get closer to better healthcare/hospitals.

Stopped at the one in Baytown a couple of hours ago. I jokingly asked the manager if they were done with Louisiana and they said not really. Just that location over by Baton Rouge. Lafayette is still a very strong possibility is what I was told.

ETA: politics is rearing its ugly head in Louisiana as usual with regards to Buc-ee's coming over here. That's one of the main reasons they put the brakes on opening for the moment.
