re: I have no idea how people have more than 1 or 2 kids. This newborn crap is insanity.

My first had colic something horrible. I gave him mylicon like it was water. Then we found out soy formula didn’t give him so much gas. The next four kids never got regular formula, we went straight to soy. May want to try that.

Infants are tough, but I will miss having a 19 month old around when I don't anymore. And that's next month.
I have 4 teenagers. I hate any two of them MFers at any given time.
Gimme crying babies all day.

Do you have a brand recommendation? Even the gentle ease formula gives my kid serious gas problems. Like holy hell I had no idea babies could fart so much.

Nature documentaries work for me. The ones with that old Brit narrating. They are educational and he has a soothing voice. Works for me but I'm late 30s.
God bless all of you that raise kids and hopefully it gets easier you. It does for most.

I can’t remember the last time I posted there nor do I have any idea who you are. That a stranger triggered you so badly is pretty sad though.

Im with you dude.
Are you me? Nah

ETA: to give some advice, sleep schedule is most important. My wife is religious with it and we had just gotten into another grove when the time changed back to standard time and fricked it all up again. Now we have to be in bed an hour earlier and she wakes up at 5 instead of 6. Fricking bullshite especially since the time change sucks in AK during the winter with daylight fleeting.

My daughter and her husband are going through the exact situation right now. Baby is about a month old and is still trying to develop a routine.
Hang in there, it does get better.

Sometimes only a mothers tits can satisfy, even if everything else is hunky dory.
Just give him over and be done.

It does get better...keep that solace
Also, you’ll somehow miss these days sometime soon as well.
It makes no sense now, eventually it will

If you’ve done all the good parent shite then it is time to let the little fricker cry for a good 30-40 min before you pick him up again.
Father of 2 here. They learn pretty quick.

Absolutely false. frick the newborn stage.
It sucks donkey nuts. You miss the 6 month to 18 month part where they sleep at least 75% of the night, not that shite.

Eventually you'll reach a point where you're gonna miss them being so little.

frick all that noise. My kids are 7 & 8 and this is where it’s awesome being a dad teaching them and helping them with school and watching them become their own person not the wiping asses and feeding a little goo goo gah gah crying shitting machine

My baw. This is a lesson.
This helpless, alien wean, fruit of your loins, comes forth.
And let’s be honest, they are an absolute burden. A crying, screaming, selfish little creature with no respect for your routines or wants.
And yet, when they wrap that tiny hand around your finger, you are lost.
Yes, through all the sleepless nights, the unspeakable bodily functions they will spew on you, what they are doing is learning to trust you.
They can’t help what they are. Titty seeking piss missiles. But they are your titty seeking piss missile. Just as you were once. And they will bond to you as you power through their constant, ear shattering needs.
You’ll calm their cries with lullabies
And one day, you’ll wish for it back.
And then…once they learn that you are there to make things better…they speak. “Dada”. A word that steals a man’s heart. And they babble and drool and poop and laugh, and you get to be there.
And you blink, and those diaper years are gone. Then they toddle to you when you come home. They throw their little arms around you in the biggest hugs ever. They are silly and happy and just want YOU.
Halcyon days my friend. And, like we all do, you’ll squander them more than you mean to, because bills still have to get paid. And blink by blink they’ll grow, and grow around your heart. You’ll entwine the memories with your soul and though the frustrations seem so big, you’ll forget them. The smiles are what you’ll remember.
I’ve gone on overlong here, and there’s more, but…you’ll get to that.
And one day you’ll sing the last lullaby.
And you’ll be the one crying.
So…hard as it is, savor this. Trust me

Nope. Those first 3 months are hell. And both of mine were good sleepers.
I’m currently on my 2nd load of laundry and I’ve now handwashed about a dozen “stuffies” tonight because my 2 year old decided to vomit about 6 times in the last 2 hours.
Not sure if my wife will get any sleep tonight.
Parenting is awesome

I mean…knowing what joy comes after that? Give me poop or give me death. Worth it every time

Maybe it kicks in when they are a-hole teens?

Yup. You are in the prime right now. But it will pass and you’ll want it back
