That’s the thing about the Flu shot. If you do get the Flu you can kick that shite in 48 hours.

And again, there’s less of a chance of you spreading the virus to others.

I agree.

People just need to understand that getting the flu shot isn’t just about preventing yourself from getting it. It’s also to help prevent you getting it and spreading it to someone else that could seriously struggle with it.

And even if the shot is 30-40% effective....isn’t that better than absolutely no protection?

I wonder how many people that are freaking out about coronavirus got a flu shot.

I haven’t gotten sick in over a decade. I don’t get the flu shot.

While I do have a thing with needles, I just carry on a conversation and look the other way when I get a shot. Getting blood drawn is a different story you ain’t getting my precious o- blood.

Are you ever around elderly people, babies, kids, or those with immune system issues (ex:someone with cancer getting chemotherapy)?

If so you should get a flu shot.

But if you get the flu, the flu shot does not prevent you from spreading the flu.

I’m not against the flu shot. My family got the flu shot this year and 4 out of 5 got strain B, spreading to each person over the course of 2 weeks

I have never seen the flu shot being touted as being able to make you less contagious if you catch the flu.

No it doesn’t. But at least you took that step. Again...some protection is better than none. Maybe one day a universal vaccine will be made. Just really tough considering how rapidly the flu virus changes.

My coworker and his family all got flu a this year and they all had the shot. His kid got it twice.

He will still make them all get the shot every year though. And he made sure to keep them all home while they were sick so they didn’t spread it around.

I had Flu B back in December. I slept in bed for about 24 hours. My dr almost didnt let me drive myself home. However the second day was much better. Third day was good to go.

I have Flu A right now. Milder symptoms than B, but is super hard to kick. Ob my third day and not much better than my first day.

Same goes for my wife, 5 year old son, and 5 month old daughter. We all literally had both Flu A & B since December.

My son was good after 2 days on the B strain. This A strain is kicking his butt. He was diagnosed on Tuesday and still 100 fever this morning.

Yeah they named it well. ‘A’ strain is the one that kicks your arse. Strain B was a bad cold that gave me a few aches for a day and a half.

ha.

im old. i had b so many times its nothing big to me.

b hardly changes.
the shot does minimize b.

One influenza A(H1N1), one influenza A(H3N2), and one or two influenza B viruses (depending on the vaccine) are included in each season’s influenza vaccines. Getting a flu vaccine can protect against flu viruses that are like the viruses used to make vaccine.

When my daughter was born I told all my idiot family that if they wanted to see her they had to get their shots. I don’t give a shite if they never get the flu so they don’t need the shot.

Take that bunk arse pseudoscience around someone else’s kid.
