These probably had cat food in them instead of pecans.

I wouldn't call OPs story a bad trip, I'd call that a productive night of sleep.

Tell your mom to just keep doing it, because when she builds a tolerance and gets used to it then she can handle her shite better.
But I'm sorry to say man, it sounds like your mom wasn't very fun to party with in her day

It’s perfect for me. No dreams, solid 6-8 hours, no sleepwalking either. I can be awoken by house alarm, phone ringing, or someone calling my name or touching me. I can get up, go to the bathroom, talk to someone, and go back to sleep quickly. Seems it was designed for me.

Let me get this straight. You say that your Dad got his wife high on Ambien, and then she did a bunch of cooking and housework without complaining?
Gentlemen, I think that we have found our Miracle Drug.

You know that dream you’re walking around naked in your high school? It happened to me on Ambien. Only it wasn’t a dream. And I graduated 20 years ago. And then I realized I do not take Ambien.

I'd imagine the cause of death was either drowning or blunt force trauma. Manner of death was either suicide, accidental, or undetermined.
I want to know how the other six people died.

I think there was some sports player (maybe baseball?) that took ambien and got in a wreck or something like that after falling asleep.
Seems like ambien is good about knocking you out, but also good about you waking up later on (maybe in an hr or two) as well. I haven't done it but have heard similar crazy posts before. I think if I ever were to try it, I would do it recreationally and not for sleep, only for research purposes of course.

My sister had an episode where she was in kind of a hypnotic state. Her eyes were closed but if you asked her questions she would answer in a monotone. She could walk if you guided her in the right direction. It started wearing off in an hour or so and by the next morning she was fine. I was told these reactions are more likely if you don't go to bed right away after taking it.

Wife films you asleep gasping for air instead of helping... you have a huge life insurance policy, don't you?
Wife was slapping me in the face and yelling at me to get off the couch. At no time did I even open my eyes to see if there was anything going on...I was out and she was scared. so to make me believe how dangerous it was she recorded it.
We just spoke about it again in the bed and she was saying she thought jumping on my chest wouldnt have woken me from such a deep sleep. It's risky stuff but for us insomnia type. Its the only thing that works...some of the time.

Story relayed to me by an ex GF regarding her uncle.
Uncle was taking Ambien. Wakes up to a horror show in his bed that he shares with his GF. In the middle of the night, he had gone into the fridge and destroyed some ribs or something with BBQ sauce. All over the sheets. So out of it with all the sauce and bones everywhere he thought he had killed his GF.

It has been a wonder drug for me. I only take it when needed and when I am ready for bed. 2 stories. I was wide awake, took one at 11 pm, and sat in the easy chair watching tv waiting until I felt sleepy. Next thing I know, a loud noise on the tv woke me up. It was 5:30 am.
When I took Ambien in my untreated sleep apnea days, I would wake up to use the bathroom and literally crash into walls. It was actually pretty cool, but I was scared I would tumble down the stairs if I didn't fix the apnea.
After I take it, it is literally like a switch flipped. I have no tired, washed out feeling the next day.

My gf had me take one of hers a while back and I put sticky notes all over the house. Couldn’t make most of them out. Probably for the best.
