well you might want to get such and such tooth filled because you could have a cavity there in the future

He was recommending a sealant which isn't uncommon. Your insurance might have paid for it as it's preventative.

It's not necessarily a procedure I condone.

I went through the $650 and $200 crap, as well.
Now I order them off amazon for about $30 for 3 of them.

This same office tries to diagnose everyone with TMJ and tells them they need surgery and all kids they push to have tonsils removed

They seem to push root canals as well. It seems like more people are getting root canals now than ever before..

We could have used these dentists in the army.

I never saw so many people with messed up teeth.

Go work for an oral surgeon in a rural suburb. You'll see the works.

This is likely going to cause you serious TMD issues in the future...

I got a crown put in during February. cost me $1150. Dentist works four days a week and drives a Mercedes. He wants me to have my wisdom teeth pulled too. Always something to have done.

Sounds like you have covered your bases really well, as we would expect. Good luck. I have been in a somewhat similar situation in the recent past in a different medical area as far as illegal billing. Its a unnecessary stress you shouldn't have to deal with.

2. Do you just take your dentists word when he says you need treatment or do you get a second opinion?

Not any more. Had a drunk lady dentist tell my wife she had 14 cavities when she went in for a cleaning. Could have gotten away with one maybe even two, but 14? She called BS and went to another dentist. That was over 10 years ago and to this day she's never had a cavity.

Now if a dentist finds something unexpected we get a 2nd opinion.

Just watch for sore facial/neck muscles, headaches, popping and clicking in your jaw... ear pain... etc...

In college I went to a dentist I found online and he was a shady dude

I went in for a root canal and the SOB did the tooth behind it. shite you not

I was young and stupid and so embarrassed or else I would have sued his arse

Ended up having to get two root canals and crowns.
