are you my brother??

Seriously, this shite happened to us every year. He still won't admit he's an alcoholic, despite multiple DUIs, losing his business and family. Every year ended in a fist fight between him and someone. I hate that mother fricker.

yeah, it happened most years at my house, although the exact mechanics of what happened were different. The outcome was the same - something went wrong, I got the blame. Didn't matter what it was, somehow it was my fault.

Anyway, I don't talk to him anymore. I highly recommend it.

Good lord, Charlie Brown. Only you could take a wonderful season like Christmas and make it sad.

Travel or something. Shake it up. Make it different from what's bringing you down. Just don't bring everyone else down with you.

I hate to admit it, but I really do hate Christmas, and I wish I could fast forward through January and February.

Seeing others being happy often makes people jealous, depressed or bitter during the holidays. It’s most common in people that have lost friends or family members, particularly children. I would have assumed that was the case for you, but you suggest this has gone on since high school. I wonder, since you are a “man of faith”, if you feel the same way during Easter season. I doubt it, but am curious if it’s a religious thing or just seeing others being happy makes you depressed or upset.

Christmas, to me, is about getting drunk with my family that lives all over the country and rarely sees each other...and catching my mom cheat at board games like she's done our entire lives.

Then opening up presents in the morning hungover.

Its wonderful.

You haven't eaten a gun in 46 years. Get over it put up some decorations, enjoy good food and realize everything hates dark at 5. That's why we make it more colorful.

That or go steal a small towns Christmas.

ever since I was in high school, this time of year has been filled with low and depressing thoughts... (and) fast forward through January and February.
Just wondering - these are low sun light months. People with a sensitivity to the shortened solar light in Fall and Winter can definitely experience low moods, depression, and gloom during these months. A clinical name for it it SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). LINK It might even be mistakenly blamed on things like Christmas, or bad associations from holidays from the past.

I love Christmas (especially this year since it is my sons first Christmas). My wife used to not be a big fan of Christmas but she said my Christmas spirit rubbed off on her. She is now the first to want to put the tree up. I love every part about it (music, food, giving gifts to others, movies, charity, parties, nostalgia, etc). Surprisingly, my love for Christmas grew once I became old enough to not care about getting gifts.
If Christmas depresses you try helping others. Or maybe try going on a trip. Mix it up until you find something that makes Christmas better for you.

The inevitable goes without saying, what I'm saying is I don't sit around moping waiting for the inevitable. I live my life to the fullest I can. I understood death from a young age...I was 11 when I at my grandparent's house and he died of a pulmonary embolism at night.

Why do you have “,no?” at the end of this sentence. You sound like a stupid little Mexican, or French bitch who’s speaking English as a second language. Shut the frick up.

The older I get,the more I love Christmas.

I'm learning all the Christmas Songs I can on my guitar.

I give less junk, and am trying to give more of myself.

I found I'm happier for Christmas when I'm more charitable. This year I raised over $1000 and matched it split over 3 charities

You need to seek out others who aren't as fortunate as you, and laugh at them.

It is in poor taste to boast about your charitable efforts.

Even says so in the Bible

Matthew 6:2
So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets
